After we receive your inquiry concerning a new part, we'll review your specifications, drawings, the part's purpose, etc., to optimize the design of the casting. This ensures that casting the part is possible, repeatable and cost-effective. As an added convenience, we offer pattern design and production services. Our ability to work with independent pattern shops/designers allows us to provide our clients with high-quality tooling for low fees. Patterns are made from wood, epoxy, plastic, aluminum and cast iron. In most cases, we store our customers' patterns with no added charges as long as their accounts are active.
We posses institutional knowledge and innovative modeling techniques that enable us to determine the gating and rising necessary to pour castings that are dimensionally accurate, repeatable, consistent and top-quality. The gating is proprietary and usually removed upon return of the tooling to the customer.
We specialize in sand castings of bronze, aluminum and zinc-based alloys. We melt ingots in #80 and #90 crucibles. Molds are made out of green sand, which is a mixture of #90 sand, southern bentonite, western bentonite, pan-x-trol, sea coal and water. Pouring the melt into molds creates alloy-specific castings. Cores, which are made from either shell sand or CO2 sand, are required to create a casting's internal features. All of our sand is recycled, and the metal we buy is poured into parts or recycled.
We're capable of performing drilling/tapping, polishing, sand blasting, spray painting and shot blasting in-house. Other value-added services we provide include heat treating, annealing, machining, powder coating, painting, anodizing and assembling.
